Context

On the occasion of World Environment Day, Disseny Hub Barcelona wanted to communicate sustainability messages through temporary signage produced with biomaterials.

Challenge

To design an ephemeral system that would convey good environmental practices using local waste from the building itself.

The solution

We applied our CIBICO® system, using coffee and orange peel waste from the Sauleda cafeteria.
The supports were laser engraved at the Ateneus de Fabricació, without the use of inks, and can be biodegraded or composted once their cycle is over.

Value generated

A pilot project that marked the beginning of our line of research in circular signage, demonstrating that even temporary communication can have a lasting impact.
